Thomas Sondergeld is currently the Vice President HRIS, Global Benefits & Mobility for Walgreens Boots Alliance, Inc. (WBA). Thomas Sondergeld’s primary responsibility is to provide strategic direction for the HR Technology, health, wellness and mobility programs globally for WBA with over 350,000 team members. This role crosses over all of WBAs three Divisions – Retail USA, International Retail and International Wholesale. In 2014, he led the Walgreen’s organization to a Private Health Exchange for over 170,000 active employees and pre-Medicare retirees, the largest employer to make such a move. He has led the implementation of several key initiatives including on-site clinics, telemedicine, EAP programs, and other well-being focused programs. He has also served on several employer Boards and committees the most recent of which are WorldatWork’s Benefits Advisory Committee (past Chair) and the Midwest Business Group on Health (MBGH – current Chair). He currently sits on the Board of the Health Transformation Alliance (HTA), a consortium of employers focused on lowering the cost of employer healthcare. Among his many talents Tom plays the flute and has spoken nationally at many conferences and seminars. Thomas Sondergeld is an avid sports aficionado following NASCAR, Hockey and Baseball.
