Dr. Rob Goldsmith, Medical Director of Novartis Pharmaceuticals, will speak about the importance of EAPs and work-life balance at the Employer Healthcare & Benefits Congress taking place September 25 – 28th in Washington D.C. As Medical Director, Dr. Goldsmith’s responsibilities include oversight of occupational health, emergency medical services, acute care, and wellness programs. He is currently working on programs that expand employer sponsored primary medical care.
Prior to his employment with Novartis, he served as Associate Global Medical Director for the General Electric Company and had been in private medical practice in his hometown of Stamford, Connecticut.
Dr. Goldsmith received his medical degree from Albert Einstein College in New York, trained at Greenwich Hospital and the Yale-New Haven Medical Center and earned his Master’s Degree in Public Health from the University of Connecticut. He is a Fellow of the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine, and a clinical instructor in the Department of Medicine at Columbia University.
Dr. Goldsmith’s session is titled When Life Gets in the Way of Well-Being: EAP and Work-Life Management as a Prerequisite to Health and will be presented along with Jim O’Connor, Senior Account Manager at ComPsych Corporation. Dr. Goldsmith will detail the “Well Being @ Novartis” program in their flagship location in East Hanover N.J. He will also detail the importance of knowing “What is important to you?”
