Here is a preliminary list of some of the speakers you can hear at the 10th WMTC!
Omar Rajih Jamal Shalabi is a Division Head for the Central & Western Regions, Management Population Health Division at Johns Hopkins Aramco Healthcare (JHAH), a joint venture initiated in 2014. His emphasis on quality, safe and patient-centered medical care is evident via his work to support Joint Commission International Accreditation for nearly 20 hospitals in the Kingdom since 1994. Dr. Shalabi believes that communication is the most important vehicle required to deliver excellent service in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia via the following acronym: Knowledge, Skills, and Attitude. These three elements work together for successful people and projects, and support controlled medical tourism that requires these attributes.
Chip Burgett is a seasoned healthcare executive with leadership experience in all aspects of the medical insurance market: insurance carrier management, Fortune 500 benefit leader, hospital executive, and entrepreneur. Burgett was the founding partner in Burgett & Dietrich, an employee benefit services company, which operates currently as Healthscope Benefits. Mr. Burgett leads the Quandary Solutions consulting team working with medical providers on the development, implementation, and marketing of bundled case rate programs. His 30 plus years in the managed care industry have provided him with a depth of experience in contract negotiation and payment methodology along with an extensive contact list with insurance carriers, third-party administrators, and benefit consultants.
Patricia Ziomek’ s entire professional career has been in the health care industry. Her primary focus is building strategic relationships and providing solutions in the International health care arena. Her years of industry experience extend across the traditional health insurance, managed care and medical management. Patricia Ziomek was Founder of Quality Health Management, LLC (“QHM”), an international health services administration company specializing in medical cost containment. Mrs. Ziomek earned a Juris Doctorate from the University Of Miami School Of Law in 1999. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Hartford in 1995. Ziomek is married, mother to four children and resides in Minnesota.
Viktoriya Khaitova is the Director, Clinical Operations at City Drugs. Her role at City Drugs is to further develop the portfolio of medication therapy management protocols, clinical programs, and patient and provider educational support initiatives offered by City Drugs. Viktoriya brings a wealth of clinical, diagnostic and research experience within the Hepatitis and Oncology therapeutic areas. Prior to joining City Drugs, Viktoriya’s most recent role at Mount Sinai Medical Center included prescribing medications and performing routine health services such as clinical, lab and diagnostic studies for adult patients with chronic liver disease.
Robert Wheeler has served as the Chief Medical Officer for On Call International since October 2005. In his capacity as CMO, Dr. Wheeler, together with his team of four physicians and two nurse case managers, is responsible for the management of more than 10,000 medical cases worldwide each year. He is the past Chairperson of the Medical Committee of the International Assistance Group, an organization of more than 60 global medical and travel assistance companies. Dr. Wheeler received his medical degree from the University of Massachusetts Medical School, is Board certified in Emergency Medicine and Internal Medicine and is a Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians and the American Academy of Emergency Medicine.
Paulo Moreira, has over 18 years experience in international health marketing and communication in a balance between executive and academic posts. He has been marketing manager and health systems analyst for British multinationals in the field of eHealth and healthcare delivery as well as hospital manager and has been involved in several work and consultancy projects on international health with a diversity of organizations including eCDC, the public health agency based in Stockholm (Sweden), and the World Health Organisation. He is currently editor-in-chief of the International Journal of Healthcare Management published by the London-based Maney Publishing, UK.
Lisa Han focuses her practice on transactional and regulatory matters for healthcare and insurance clients. Her experience includes mergers, acquisitions, restructurings, and formation of insurance companies and managed care plans; payor and provider joint venture or allowance; negotiation of TPA, PBM, and other vendor agreements; insurance holding company system transactions; participation in Medicare Advantage and Medicaid managed care programs; organization of accountable care organizations (ACOs), clinical integrated networks, and other types of provider organizations; value-based payment reform and shared savings programs; and compliance with the Affordable Care Act. Lisa also regularly advises hospitals, physicians, and other providers on strategic alliances, complex managed care contract negotiations, value-based purchasing, product and network issues, prompt payment compliance, audits and recovery, and regulatory compliance.
Mary Miller Sallah, MHA, Chief Quality Officer of the Global Healthcare Accreditation® (GHA) Program, possesses over 12 years of experience in the daily management of international healthcare facilities, international business development, proven leadership in change management, and the implementation of continuous quality improvement models in various countries. Miller Sallah focuses primarily on the process and structural factors influencing long-term sustainability for improvement models both unique and realistic for individual countries or facilities.
