Fatma will present on the European Summit on Medical Tourism. The nature of medical tourism in Europe is changing. 2006 saw a surge in European medical tourists, largely fueled by the dental market and patients from the UK struggling with availability in their home country and looking to save up to 70 percent on treatment costs. All 28 member states of the European Union have declared themselves as medical tourism destinations. This all coalesced on October 25th, 2013 with the ratification of the EU Directive on Cross Border Healthcare, a framework describing how to exercise your rights as a citizen of the European Union to medical treatment in any member state as long as you fulfil certain conditions.
The European Summit will take place Sunday, September 27 from 1:30 – 5:20 pm.
