The Employer Healthcare & Benefits Congress (EHBC) and the World Medical Tourism & Global Healthcare Congress (WMTC) kicked off today with the 3rd Annual Global Women’s Leadership Summit – Women Leading in Health, Tourism & Benefits Industry. The summit hosts women from across the world to come together to discuss the challenges women face both in and out of the workplace, and how they can go about addressing these problems. This important discussion took place over a breakfast buffet and mimosas.
The event was hosted by Renée-Marie Stephano, the President and Chairwomen of the Corporate Health & Wellness Association and President & Editor-in-Chief of the Medical Tourism Association. She opened the event by speaking to the influence women have in the world today, how there are currently two women running for the Presidency of the United States and how the fate of many of the refugees fleeing to Europe are in the hands of German Chancellor Angela Merkel, which is not to ignore the other 13 female heads of state. These women are “planting the seeds of tomorrow” according to Stephano, and she encourage all in attendance to help foster these seedlings.
Climb Every Mountain
The theme of this year’s event was “Believe in Yourself”, with a special emphasis on “Be” and “You,” and the speakers did an amazing job of sharing their views on this. Believing in your self can lead anyone to accomplish amazing things, and Dr. Lanalee Araba Sam the Director of Women’s Health for Florida Medical Center proves this. By training hard and being herself she was able to Climb Mt. Kilimanjaro.
Arize! for the Princess
Following Dr. Sam, Her Royal Highness Princess Moradeun (‘Deun) Adedoyin-Solarin spoke about her work as a Trustee Chair & Spokesperson for Girl Child Network Worldwide. Princess ‘Duen is the Grand Daughter of HRM Oba William Christopher Adedoyin II, Akarigbo Anoko of Sagamu, Remo-land, Nigeria.
The Girl Child Network Worldwide is an organization dedicated to helping girls overcome and become the best woman they can be. When she was offered the position, she was initially reluctant to accept. She wanted to know why she was chosen, but she could not turn down the opportunity to help girls in need and combating “oppression of the highest kind.”
Princess ‘Duen is also the host of the talk-show Princess of Arize! where she highlights the people, organizations and business making a difference as “positive agents of change” with a focus on the female leaders and professionals who are overlooked by the media.
