MEDICAL EXCELLENCE WITH A TROPICAL FLAIR IN MIAMI
PLANNING YOUR VACATION TO MIAMI
Miami is a vacation paradise, but needing medical care while on vacation is not the time to wonder what your health insurance plan covers. In reality, insurance plans and the coverage they allow are often as personal as the people holding the policy. Before you leave home, we recommend you pack for the unexpected.

Before you leave home:
Research which doctor’s offices and medical care facilities are part of your in-network providers in the destination you are traveling to. This will help you avoid paying higher rates for out-of-network care.
Bring along your health and prescription insurance cards, as well as your prescription medication. Be sure your meds are in their original bottles.
Have your primary-care doctor’s phone number handy and that of every person traveling with you. This way, when you call for advice it isn’t an emergency.
Each traveler should carry a brief health summary. The summary should include current prescription medications, any over-the-counter medications or supplements, vitamins, etc., and their dosages. Also important, list any medical conditions, hospital stays and drug allergies.
