Lupina McMains is a partner with McMains & Moreno Global Consultants, L.L.C., a consulting, project development and logistical services company for companies, investors, developers and governments focused on the Latin American market.
Ms. McMains’s career began in the tourism industry in 1975. During her tenure, she held executive positions with Aeromexico and Continental Airlines. In 1986, Ms. McMains joined Continental Airlines with the responsibility of capturing the Latin America market by developing relationships with the Latin American governments. Ms. McMains promoted the Mexican, Central and South American destinations and was responsible for the Latin American market in the U.S.
She is a featured speaker at events for Latin American women. Several newspapers, magazines, TV and Radio shows have covered her personal achievements as a Hispanic Woman success story. In addition, due to her experience in the development of the Latin American market for Continental Airlines (United), Ms. McMains developed strong relationships in the diplomatic corps in the Americas.
Ms. McMains has served on several community boards which include Mexican Institute of Greater Houston, Hispanic Women in Leadership, Hispanic Cultural Institute, Avance, Bolivian Charity Foundation, Ripley House, Texas Art Institute, The City of Houston Mayor’s Latin American Advisory Board, Consular Forum of Houston, March of Dimes, Salvation Army, Houston Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Inter-American Chamber of Commerce and the World Trade Center at the Greater Houston Partnership.
Lupina has lived in Houston for the last 46 years with her husband, Michael W. McMains and have two children James A. McMains and Michele McMains-Bidstrup and three grandchildren, Scout McMains and Nicolai and Jens Bidstrup.
Ms. McMains will present on the topic of Medical Tourism 101, detailing the basic of the industry, at the 8th World Medical Tourism and Global Healthcare Congress in Orlando, FL from September 27 – 30.
