Kamal Deep Chhabra is the President of Life Bancassurance & Personal Lines for the Union Insurance Company in Dubai. He graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Insurance from Delhi University and received his Post Graduate in Insurance Law from the Insurance Institute of India. All told, he has over 20 years of experience in the industry. Prior to joining UIC and joining the board of Takaful Emarat, he practiced as management consultant and did projects for financial institutions from 2011.
Kamal moved to the Gulf region when he joined Oman Insurance in 2000. He developed the firms Bancassurance business and is responsible for many firsts in the Middle Eastern insurance market. Kamal brings a wealth of experience in product development, reinsurance and relationship management and out of box thinking creating innovative offerings and tailor made solutions.
He will have two sessions at the World Medical Tourism & Global Healthcare Congress, held September 27 – 30. The first is “Opportunities and Challenges for Private Insurers in GCC States” which is a panel discussion that will focus on the recent healthcare policy reforms taking place in GCC states that are opening the market for private insurance companies to build and run health insurance businesses in the region. The second session is titled “Facilitator and Insurance Carrier Perspectives on Outbound Medical Tourism from the Middle East” and will discuss the push and pull factors influencing the outbound medical tourism market from the Middle East and opportunities for medical providers, facilitators and insurance companies. Both sessions will take place on September 28.
