Emily Erkel, Director of Benefits for Windstream Communications will present at the Employer Healthcare & Benefits Congress, September 25 – 28 in Washington D.C. She leads the team to offer health and retirement benefits to 12,000 union and non-union employees.
Emily’s career began after she completed her undergraduate studies at Baylor University and earned an MBA from the College of William and Mary. She has worked for 360 Communications, Alltel, Verizon Wireless and Windstream and spanned functional areas including sales management, corporate financial planning, M&A, compensation and benefits.
Outside of work, Emily serves as Vice President of Finance for Alpha Delta Pi’s board of directors and as co-chair of her church’s annual medical mission team.
At the EHBC, Emily will present alongside Stephanie Noonan, Consulting Health Actuary, Milliman, Inc. and Michael Taggart, Senior Consultant, Health & Group Benefits, Milliman, Inc. on the topic “Evaluating Private Exchanges: 2016 and Beyond.” Using survey data taken from employers who have adopted private exchanges, case study analysis and an actuarial review of the financial structures, this session will provide employers with a practical basis for evaluating whether an exchange strategy would make sense for their organization.
