Dr. Khalil Ahmad Mohmand is the president of Max Global Consulting Services (MGCS), a consulting firm which facilitates medical tourism for patients in Afghanistan seeking medical treatment outside of the country.
Dr. Mohmand graduated from Kabul Medical University, School of Curative Medicine. He received a diploma in international health from Swiss Tropical Institute (STI), Basel, Switzerland. He received a Master Degree in Public Health from the University of Saint Louis, School of Public Health, the United States of America in Health Policy from 2007-2009. He received a Master Degree in Business Administration (MBA) from Preston University, Islamabad Pakistan.
He started his career as a clinical practitioner in the department of Internal medicine of ARCS Hospital in Kabul. From 2002 to 2003, he was a member of the South Asia Regional Network on HIV/AIDs where he represented the Afghan Red Crescent Society. From 2003 to 2006, he served as a Health Program Director for Care Afghan Families (CAF) a national organization working to foster health and community development. From 2006 to 2007 Dr. Mohmand Served as Executive Director for Social and Health Development Program (SHDP) a national organization. SHDP is working in Health, Education and Research.
Aside from his professional responsibilities, Dr. Mohmand serves on the board of trustees of CAF. He is also a member of the Graduate Students Health Policy Association. He serves as an executive board member of Afghanistan National Public Health Association.
At the World Medical Tourism & Global Healthcare Congress, Dr. Mohmand will present on the forum titled “Facilitator Perspectives on Outbound Medical Tourism from the Middle East”. This forum will discuss the push and pull factors influencing the outbound medical tourism market from the Middle East and opportunities for medical providers, facilitators and insurance companies.
